SPEZO 2025: A tradition that combines energy, ecology, and innovation

In October 2025, the 49th annual SPEZO workshop was held at the Soláň Mountain Hotel in northern Moravia. This traditional meeting of experts from the fields of energy, industry, legislation, and the environment is regularly organized by ORGREZ, a.s.

SPEZO 2025: A tradition that combines energy, ecology, and innovation

Over the course of nearly half a century, SPEZO has become a unique platform for dialogue between energy source operators, environmentalists, researchers, and government representatives. Like the energy sector itself, this seminar is constantly evolving—with respect for tradition, but with a firm eye on the future.

The year 2025 brought many challenges and opportunities to the energy sector. The topics of this year's SPEZO therefore reflected the most important changes of the present – the transformation of heating, decarbonization, upcoming legislative changes in the EU and the Czech Republic, and the increasingly resonant area of digitization of environmental processes and ESG reporting.

A space for sharing expertise and experience

Over the course of two days, a number of inspiring presentations were given – from ČEZ, a.s.'s view on the transformation of the heating industry, through the experiences of Plzeňská teplárenská, a.s. and United Energy, a.s., to legislative updates from the Ministry of the Environment and the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute.

Jan Huml, CEO of ORGREZ DATA, presented how our Envision service helps companies transform non-financial reporting into a real management tool – not just a formal obligation – through the digitization and automation of ESG data collection. It is precisely this ability to combine environmental expertise with data analytics that points the way forward for modern energy: smart, measurable, and meaningful sustainability.

A big thank you also goes to everyone else who enriched this year's event with their inspiring presentations – representatives of Remark-Kayser sp. z o.o., Dentas Europe CS LLP, RTM s.r.o., Teplárna Kladno s.r.o., MOJRA s.r.o., VŠB-TU Ostrava, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Energy.

Once again, the heart of the entire event was the ORGREZ Air Protection Technology Division, whose team, led by Ondřej Baron and Tomáš Bortlíček, ensured that all lectures and discussions ran smoothly.
Special thanks also go to the main partner of the event – Remark CZ s.r.o., which has long supported professional platforms connecting industry, science, and environmental innovation.

We look forward to the 50th anniversary edition in 2026

Next year, we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the SPEZO working seminar – half a century of professional meetings, inspiration, and cooperation between the energy and environmental sectors. Our goal is for SPEZO 2026 to be not only a celebration of history, but also a milestone for the future of the Czech energy sector – more connected, digital, responsible, and open to new approaches. We would like to thank everyone who is part of this journey. We look forward to seeing you again in 2026 at Solán – a place where traditional energy meets modern sustainability.
