Jiří Brázdil was re-elected Vice-Chairman of the Committee of the Association of High Voltage Testing Laboratories

Jiří Brázdil has been at the helm of the Association since its inception in 1996, when it was transformed from the original Association of High Voltage Testing Laboratories of Czech Power Plants (today ČEZ), the core of whose professional capacities is still active in the Association today.

Jiří Brázdil's professional specialization is diagnostics of high-voltage rotating and non-rotating machines, including the field of electrical insulating fluids - he is responsible for this issue within AZVN. He has been at the forefront of introducing the regeneration of electrical insulating fluids in ORGREZ and throughout the Czech Republic and has actively participated in research and marketing promotion at professional conferences and seminars. As part of his activities, he represents the Czech Republic in the IEC Technical Commission TC 10 Fluids for electrotechnical application, participates in the development of technical standards that adopt the national legislation of IEC member states (EN CSN). He has been a long-term lecturer at professional conferences and seminars and has a major contribution to the popularization of the field of regeneration of electrical insulating fluids. He is also involved in cooperation with universities as a supervisor of bachelor, diploma and doctoral theses. He is an assessor of the Czech Institute for Accreditation (CIA) and an expert in the field of electrical power engineering.

The Association of High Voltage Testing Laboratories (AZVN) is a voluntary professional association of legal and natural persons, equipped for testing and measurement of high voltage electrical equipment. AZVN raises the professional level of activities of high-voltage testing laboratories, within the framework of valid Czech and international technical standards in the field of high-voltage testing, by providing professional seminars, consultations and carrying out professional level inspections.
AZVN was founded in 1996 and its activities build on twenty years of professional cooperation of high-voltage testing laboratories in the former Czechoslovakia.

Historical background

ORGREZ's Group Testing Room E01, originally as a technical centre providing support for the entire power industry within Czech Power Plants, was also responsible for the development and operation of protective equipment test facilities and the preparation of methodological guidelines and regulations, which in many cases replaced official technical standards. Many of these activities were transferred to the structure of the Association of High Voltage Testing Laboratories after the privatisation and restructuring of the power industry.
