Energy recovery of waste gases

For BORSODCHEM, a chemical manufacturer, we designed a plant for the energy recovery and subsequent purification of waste gases from aniline production. The contract included the preparation of a feasibility study and a design for a joint construction permit.

We have proposed to supplement the existing technology of aniline production with a unit for the treatment of waste gases, which enables the fulfilment of emission limits resulting from the draft BAT (Best Available Technique) conclusions for the treatment of waste gases in the chemical industry. The newly designed technology uses thermal oxidation and SCR to eliminate unwanted gaseous emissions from aniline production, while the addition of a heat recovery system allows the new plant to use the heat generated to produce saturated steam. It is subsequently used as a supplementary heat source for the production area.
