Energy recovery from mine gases

For the state enterprise DIAMO, which mitigates the effects of mining activities after uranium, ore and part of coal mining, we assessed alternative options for the use of emitted mine gases from the closed coal mines in order to reduce the environmental impact of the environmental burden of the ending mining.

The feasibility study dealt with the elaboration of a plan for the energy recovery of mine gases in relation to 44. Government Action Plan to Government Resolution No. 826/2015 to reduce the costs of eliminating the risks from the effects of mining, in this case in particular the methane output to the surface, and at the same time for the possibility of further use of the mine gas as an energy potential of the liquidated sites owned by the o.z. Darkov.

In the study, we assessed the possibilities of using the waste gas as a gaseous feedstock or fuel to ensure a long-term sustainable phase-out of the plants in order to minimize the costs incurred.
